SWACO Expands Hazardous Waste
Drop-Off Hours

Hours at SWACO’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Center have been expanded. An extra day has also been added for the convenience of residents of Franklin County. The Center at 1249 Essex Avenue in Columbus is now open Wednesdays 12pm – 6pm, Thursdays 9am- 5pm and Fridays 12pm- 6pm. Residents of Franklin County can bring their old lawn chemicals, paints strippers, acids, insecticides, etc. (list at http://www.swaco.org/SmartPeople/HHW.aspx ) for environmentally safe disposal. (Free of charge). Latex paint will not be accepted at SWACO HHW collections. This product, once dried, is not considered hazardous and can be disposed of in the trash.

SWACO is also announcing the mobile HHW collection schedule for 2010. There will be four regional collections. These collections will be in Dublin, Westerville, Columbus, and Grove City (see schedule below).
